Can Jagex detect VPN?
In practice, yes. Jagex can see the IP you’re connecting from, and many VPN IP ranges have reputations (shared users, past abuse, botting, etc.). Jagex’s own support notes that VPNs can interfere with access, and they specifically call out launcher authentication errors that are usually associated with having a VPN enabled.
Does RuneScape ban IP addresses?
